Water Playdate

The girls and I were invited on a water playdate with Ruth and her girls.  (Katrina was in school)  We packed lunches for everyone, made a run to JoAnns - two girls who like to sew should probably not be let loose in there ;) and then headed for some water fountains in Jensen Beach.
There weren't that many people there in the beginning, which was nice!

Billie and Lilly had been there before, they knew the drill...we got the girls changed into their swim clothes, sun-screen protected and then they were good to go!

Katie and Courtney really enjoyed themselves, although Courtney never did get completely wet.  She was more interested in just running around and when the fountain water was at low pressure she would stick her fingers in :)
Katie sitting on one of the fountains spots....
It was around lunch time so the girls would come get a bite real quick and then take off playing again.

Splash, Splash....they were havin' a blast!

Love these next few pictures...

We really had a great time!  All 4 girls were nice and worn out :) and a drive-thru Starbucks on the way home "hit the spot!"  THANKS Ruth, Billie and Lily for asking us!

Resolution #372

Time for a new post, huh?!  The blogging silence has been unintentional, but living life and being intentional in the moment has been intentional.  Reminds me of the Little House of the Prairie DVD where the girls are involved in a school play.  During the play, the acting is suddenly stalled as 'real life' takes over.  At the end of the play Mary says to her parents.  "Play acting's o.k. I guess, but when it turns out right, real life is a whole lot better!"
A few weeks ago, one of our PA friends had arrived for a visit to FL.  She had never seen the ocean at all....which is so hard of me to imagine that.  So, the girls and I took her to the beach for an afternoon.

I took the normal shovels and sand buckets, but what the girls did the most was stand in the crashing surf.  HA  I really need to get them to the beach more often!
A little photo for her to remember her time here....
and without saying a word, Katrina decided she liked that idea and wrote her name in cursive!  Yes, I know she looks uncomfortable and unnatural, but she insisted on staying exactly that way until I took her picture!  HA  Check out the cursive, though - this Mommy was pretty impressed!

I triple ♥ this picture of Courtney!  You can tell just by looking at her she was having the time of her life!!
Love seeing her in motion...she has the cutest run!
Katie loved running in the surf and splashing as much as possible!  O yeah, and falling down on "accident" :)
This girl she'd live outside if she was allowed!  I'm telling you, I got so much enjoyment out of our beach time, just from watching them thorougly enjoying God's creation!
So, Resolution #372 is all about going to the beach more often :)

The Almost-Surprise Birthday Party

I knew that I wanted to do something special to celebrate Jaron's 30th birthday.  Tossed a few ideas around, but the one that made the most sense for our schedule and to ensure an element of surprise was an after church party.  Just a few families and couples were invited....and the ingredients for a DIY Banana Split Bar were bought....

I admit I got lots of fun out of planning this for him ;)  All was going according to plan until Katie became sick over the course of Sunday.  She wasn't running a fever, you could just tell she didn't feel good and her color was off.  We even tried to get her to stay home from the evening service, but she insisted on going.  Right before the service was done, she lost the contents of her stomach :(  So, we quickly made our exit and I began texting those who were invited.  It was only fair to give them the option of bowing out.  Which I totally understand!!  and some did.
We had my family, Tim and Sharron and Jason and Jenness come over and we still had a great time!  Although, we didn't even try to sneak the balloons in the house, he never saw them.  I made the cake, which he saw, but said that it never even registered with him.   Except for Katie getting sick and me texting everyone, I think it would have been a successful Surprise Party!  He was pretty happy about it!  Mission accomplished!
We've enjoyed having our good friends, Tim and Sharron here -  they are always LOADS of fun to be around!  They even taught us how to play our first game of Catan, they have a high-success-rate of getting people addicted :)

Love you Sweetie!

Happy Birthday Honey

Today is my favorite Husband's 30th Birthday!!  Last night we had an "almost-Surprise" Birthday party for him after church.  I have a few pictures to share, but Blogger is very uncooperative about the picture posting...
Hopefully, I can find some time this evening to see if Blogger will work for me.  In the meantime....

Happy 30th Birthday Jaron!  I love you more and more each day!

Little get-together

Last night after the evening service, we had a few friends over.  It was late and unfortunately we didn't really a chance to play games, but there will be another time for that!

Everyone chipped in with the food, so that made things easier on me :)
As you can see in these two pictures, Courtney was handing out kisses left and right :)

Jenness, Angela and Ashley chatting...must have been something good ;)

The ladies
Angela and Ashley have been best friends since elementary.  Actually it was either best friends or best enemies, but they are over that now :)   Ash, we are really glad you and Cole were able to escape the snowy north for a bit!
One more picture of little Mr. Man - he is just too adorable for words!  For these next two pictures he was imparting "words of wisdom", better known as "Cole-speak"  :)

It's great to have good friends!

Thanksgiving in pictures

Thanksgiving was held at my parents house this year, along with a whole bunch of friends. The meal was potluck style - so everyone chipped in with the food and with clean-up afterwards.
I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story...

The end.
