MOPS, snow and Ignas...

Hello Everyone,
This week has been good and uneventful. Not much new. The girls and I went to our MOPS meeting on Wednesday and that went great and was very encouraging to me. One of the ladies gave a little devotional on the gentleness of God and how He leads us as we mother our little ones!
Isaiah 40:11 - He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
It is wonderful that He is there for us, every step of the way, through our good and not-so-good Mommy moments!

After leaving MOPS we made a few stops: post office, bank, groceries, car wash, and Walmart. We also picked up Jaron and the four of us went to McDonalds for lunch. Then on to church in the evening. Wednesday was very full of activity!

Today we had planned to go to Steve's Birthday party (so SORRY - we can't make it!!) about 2 hours south of here, but the forecast for our 4 to 8 inches of snow is proving true, unfortunately! When Jaron gets home, I think we'll bundle the girls up and go out for some fun in the snow! Katrina has been asking for days now :) but this is the first real accumulation we have had in a while!

I thought it was about time I introduce Ignas, our Mixed Fruit Tetra!
A long-time friend of our families is Peter Ignatjev - yes, Ignas is named in honor of Peter :)
We met Peter when we first moved back from Brazil and it has been a great friendship and continues to be...we have many great memories of classic movie and popcorn nights (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers), trips taken on the intracoastal waterway and to the FL Keys on Molly Brown. One of the more (or less) memorable Keys trips, was the one we got totally rained out and had to rent a van and drive home because the weather was soooo miserable; but before driving home, Peter and I took a wet walk in the rain and if I remember correctly, walked almost all of Marathon Key - of course we were drenched to the bone when we got back to the boat :) - and no we did not get sick, either :)
...the memories could go on and on....
anyways Peter is a GREAT lover of animals and all critters in general! and he thought our girls needed a pet of their own! :) (despite their mommy not being an "animal lover." So he provided the means for Ignas and everything he needs to survive in our home; as a Christmas gift to the girls. They have really enjoyed this and so far Ignas is still living in spite of my lack of fondness for little creatures :)

THANKS Peter, the girls really do enjoy having Ig-uh-nus - as Katrina pronounces it :)



Hopefully he can survive the gentle sloshing he sometimes gets when the girls are watching him :)

Mixed Fruit Tetras are middle and top tank feeders, so Ignas spends most of his time at the top, unless he is sleeping.
