Field Trip with Katrina

Wednesday, Katrina and I took a field trip with her pre-school to Miller's Apple Orchard and Farmers Market. For some reason, I thought this was more about the apples than the pumpkins, since pumpkins hadn't really been emphasized; or maybe I just missed it :)
Anyhow, once we arrived at Millers, everyone recieved an entrance sticker and then we all loaded on to the hay wagon for a little ride out to the pumpkin patch. We did pass the apple trees on the way - even Katrina seemed a little confused as to why we weren't picking any apples!
She was able to pick out two pumpkins and really enjoyed pulling them in the wagon! Then we loaded back up and rode back to the play area, which was pretty nice! They had goats the children could feed, a really cool water toy, mini haybale maze, sand boxes; among other things.
The kids basically just got to play the rest of the time, which they seemed to enjoy!
I was really proud of her behavior! Sometimes when parents join in an activity with their child, this can have the tendency to make the child behave not so well, but she did really good!
We stopped at the gift shop on the way out, Katrina insisted we buy a pear for each member of the family and of her own initiative saved part of her cookie to share with Katie, when we got back! Unfortunately, Katie wanted nothing to do with the cookie :)

Waiting with some of her classmates, before getting our stickers

Walking up to the patch

She was pretty excited about picking out a pumpkin for herself and Katie

Taking them back to the hay wagon

The best apple in the bunch!!

Havin' fun

I think this was everyone's favorite! They had to pump the water down the pipes...

to send the duckies swimming down to a buddy on the other end.

Me and my girl!
